Responsibilities

  • Perform professional level accounting work in Accounts Payable.
  • Analyze and record assigned vendor account information.
  • Accurately and timely compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment, and other charges to invoices submitted by assigned vendors for accuracy.
  • Receive and verify invoices and purchase orders, conduct three-way matching of purchase orders, receiving slips, and invoices for all assigned vendor disputes.
  • Correspond with vendors to resolve conflicts.
  • Accurately and timely investigate and report vendor payment issues or potential hold issues to AP Manager.
  • Prepare and review reconciled reports to accurately convey results via spreadsheets, graphs, charts, and other related documents to assigned vendors.
  • Apply knowledge of accounting practice to the accounts payable function to ensure all transactions are properly processed for assigned vendors.
  • Ensure that accounts payable processes and procedures are utilized and that all SOPS are followed in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of AP experience or bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience with accurate reconciliation of vendor statements.
  • Previous experience with three-way match.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Oracle or SAP.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel’s VLOOKUP.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to communicate in a professional manner to all vendors with excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong understanding of retail business practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Reflects integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in demonstrated behaviors.
