Accounts Payable Clerk

Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting division is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day payment operations for a Contract position based in Sparks, Nevada. This role focuses on maintaining accurate invoice records, preparing payments on schedule, and helping ensure vendor obligations are handled efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with high-volume financial transactions in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities:• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval before entering them into the system.• Assign the correct accounting codes to invoices and supporting documents to ensure accurate financial tracking.• Process vendor invoices in a timely manner while maintaining organized and up-to-date payment records.• Prepare and assist with scheduled check runs to support on-time disbursement of payments.• Reconcile invoice details against purchase orders, receipts, or related documentation to resolve discrepancies.• Communicate with internal teams and vendors to clarify billing questions and follow up on outstanding items.• Maintain filing systems and documentation for accounts payable transactions to support audit readiness. • Prior experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role. • Working knowledge of invoice coding, payment processing, and check run procedures. • Ability to handle a high volume of invoices with strong accuracy and attention to detail. • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping practices. • Proficiency with common office software and accounting systems used for AP processing. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and shifting priorities.
