Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a non-profit organization in Adelanto, California with day-to-day invoice and payment-related tasks. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for someone starting their accounting career who brings strong clerical accuracy, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. The position offers a part-time schedule of 30 hours per week and the chance to grow into additional responsibilities over time. Responsibilities: • Enter vendor invoices accurately and efficiently into the accounting system for timely processing. • Compare purchase orders with billing documents to confirm details before invoices move forward for approval. • Organize and maintain accounts payable records so documentation is complete, accessible, and audit-ready. • Support the payment process by preparing invoice information and related materials for review by the accounts payable lead. • Check invoice coding and supporting details to help ensure charges are recorded correctly. • Communicate with internal team members to resolve missing information, discrepancies, or approval delays. • Take on broader accounts payable and administrative tasks as training progresses and business needs evolve. • 0+ years of experience; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. • Interest in accounting, finance, or accounts payable work within a detail-focused office environment. • Ability to perform data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Familiarity with invoice processing, invoice coding, or related clerical tasks is preferred. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage routine work consistently. • Willingness to learn new processes and accept additional responsibilities over time. • Basic communication skills to work effectively with coworkers and follow established procedures.
