Accounts Payable Clerk

Responsibilities

• Processes accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.
• Records and posts payments received and makes payments for vendor invoices and other debts owed by the organization.
• Verifies amounts owed and received and ensures that transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in accordance with internal accounting policies.
• Maintains and reconciles accounts payable and receivable ledger accounts, including bank account reconciliations.
• Prepares and distributes reports and responds to customer/vendor inquiries.
• Reviews, verifies, and processes vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
• Analyzes and processes a high volume of invoices with a low quantity of errors.
• Performs necessary research, acquires correct information, and resolves invoice issues with clear communication, both verbally and in writing, to ensure timely resolution.
• Processes 2-way and 3-way match purchase order invoices, non-po invoices, and assists with coding and identifying tax categories as well as the preparation of payments.
• Reconciles bank accounts and investigates and resolves discrepancies.
• Maintains and monitors shared/group email inboxes, ensuring timely responses and proper routing of inquiries.
• Reviews and audits employee expense reports for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.
• Create, update, and distribute financial and operational reports as needed.
• Assists with month-end closing tasks, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (required).
• Accounts Payable experience.
• Experience processing invoices in a high-volume environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Major ERP experience.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Pay

The starting base pay range for this position is $26/hour. The actual base is dependent on many factors such as: work experience, business needs, market demands, and other compensation components. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
