About the role
Performs clerical functions in the preparation, maintenance, recording, and examination of financial data.
Responsibilities
- Examines and processes invoices, compares purchase orders and delivery receipts, computes and prepares billing documents
- Reviews financial documents for accuracy of figures and mathematical computations, identifies discrepancies, and takes authorized corrective action
- Balances incoming funds, prepares bank deposits, monitors and maintains ledgers, registers, journals, and posts financial data to proper accounts
- Records and distributes expenditures according to a cost allocation plan, researches, prepares, and verifies disbursements, authorized refunds and adjustments
- Generates and compiles routine financial reports, maintains financial files, and compiles financial information
- Supervises clerical staff, exercises judgment and discretion within limits of established policies and procedures
- Performs work in accordance with established rules, regulations, post orders, and specific instructions, receiving general administrative direction
- Performs other related work as assigned
Qualifications
- One or more years of experience in office support work
- Possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
- Recordkeeping experience is preferred, but not required
- Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year

Pay
- $2.00 per hour shift differential for shifts beginning on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am at a 24/7 congregate care facility (institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center)
- $0.75 per hour medium security or $1.50 maximum security differential for full-time work at a qualifying facility
- $1.00 per hour restrictive housing differential for regular posts within a restrictive housing/segregation unit at any facility
- Guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years
