About the role

This Accounting Tech role focuses on Accounts Receivable and supports the Vancouver Housing Authority’s mission to provide affordable housing and housing assistance to low-income residents in Clark County.

Responsibilities

  • Manage resident accounts, including researching discrepancies, posting adjustments, reconciling balances, and coordinating oversight with property management staff.
  • Manage the collections process for former tenants, including payment agreements, bad debt tracking, and refunds.
  • Ensure compliance with state laws regarding notifications to vacated residents.
  • Invoice partner organizations for shared costs.
  • Manage receivable accounts with other housing authorities, including receipting, collections, adjustments, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Generate, review, and reconcile invoices and payments for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare tenant-related financial reports such as Rent Rolls, Vacancy Loss Journal, Aged Accounts Receivable, and Occupancy Reports.
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules for all accounts receivable activity.

Requirements

  • AA degree in accounting or related subject plus an additional two years of education or experience in accounting or related field required.
  • Candidates who are actively pursuing a relevant bachelor's degree and are within six months of graduation would be considered to have met this requirement.
  • Governmental, property management, affordable housing, or non-profit industry accounting experience preferred.

Pay

In compliance with the Equal Pay & Opportunities Act, the full wage range for this position is $23.57 - $33.00 per hour. The starting salary is determined by the role's required qualifications and the candidate's relevant experience.

Schedule

Full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours per week in-person/on-site, Monday - Friday.
