Responsibilities
- Identify and record significant transactions for monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Adequately adhere to deadlines and resolve critical issues while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SOX, particularly in relation to inventory and fixed assets.
- Manage day-to-day general accounting operations with a focus on inventory and fixed assets.
- Maintain standardized processes and document accounting-related processes.
- Ensure adherence to SOX guidelines.
- Perform monthly flux analyses and other internal reporting requirements.
- Maintain accuracy of accounting ledgers for Inventory and Fixed Assets.
- Review and sign-off on balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, minimal variances, and timely issue resolution.
- Seek opportunities to streamline the month-end close process through process improvements, system upgrades, policy development, and automation.
- Work with Internal Audit on periodic reviews and annual reviews of SOX procedures.
- Collaborate with External Audit for periodic reviews and annual financial and SOX audits.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of combined experience, preferably in public accounting and general accounting.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles (U.S. GAAP).
- Strong knowledge of computer accounting software, with emphasis on Oracle Fusion, CRM, and Microsoft applications.
- Strong leadership ability or prior supervisor experience.
- Accounting expertise in basic financial statement fundamentals, ledgers, and journal entries.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Expertise in reporting and data retrieval and organization.
- Expertise in MS Excel.
