Accounting Supervisor

The Accounting Supervisor plays a critical role in driving financial outcomes for multiple projects within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee invoicing, analyze, and report on project financial status.
  • Perform first-level review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance.
  • Identify, develop, and implement streamlined accounting procedures and internal controls to enhance department efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and WIOA guidelines.
  • Manage fiscal operations, including financial planning, funds management, and accounting.
  • Lead the preparation and maintenance of project budgets, forecasts, and working capital requirements.
  • Provide high-level financial insight and performance reporting to senior leadership and clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and ability to reconcile complex balance sheets and profit/loss reports.
  • Proven experience with budgeting and forecasting across multiple funding streams (WIOA or government contracting).
  • Advanced MS Excel and Accounting Software skills (QuickBooks, Adaptive Workday, and Expensify experience a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team, foster a collaborative environment, and work effectively in a virtual/remote setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex financial data for non-financial management and staff.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet strict month-end deadlines.
  • Highly ethical standards and strict confidentiality.
