Accounting Supervisor
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Lead and develop accounting staff of 2 - 3 accounting professionals responsible for numerous gas processing plants and several gathering systems/pipelines.
Supervise the plant accounting process, maintain the general ledger, coordinate daily accounting activities, perform month and quarter end analysis and reporting.
Analyze group performance and identify opportunities to effectively implement process driven change/improvement.
Provide leadership and direction in managing the integrity of financial information.
Work effectively with commercial and other functional group personnel, as necessary, to accomplish company, business unit and/or department goals/objectives.
Review and update SOX documentation and coordinate the performance of SOX testing, as required.
Actively lead and participate in special projects as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMAL ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a BA or BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in an energy related field
- Lead level experience reviewing the work of others
- General ledger background with ability to review, analyze and resolve G/L outstanding balances
- Must be proficient in Excel and Word
- Strong analytical, problem solving and writing skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
- Good interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as necessary during close and billing cycles
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, team oriented environment
- Regular and reliable attendance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Supervisor level experience
- Knowledge of midstream energy operations, operating agreements and gas gathering & processing/purchase contracts
- Familiar with Oracle Financial Cloud and Waterfield/TIPS settlement system
