Accounting Supervisor
Core responsibilities
- Oversee key general accounting functions, including accounts receivable, sales invoicing, revenue recognition, royalties, and cost of sales.
- Lead the transactional month-end close process, including reviewing and approving journal entries.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and review variance analyses for profit and loss accounts, providing meaningful insights into financial performance.
- Evaluate existing accounting processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with shared services teams and cross-functional stakeholders to improve reporting and streamline financial operations.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Experience and key competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Qualified accountant with 5+ years of general accounting experience in an international or multinational organization.
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, U.S. GAAP, and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Extensive experience managing the month-end close process, including journal entry review and approval.
- Proven experience driving process improvements and implementing operational efficiencies.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and able to take ownership of projects and deliverables.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong emotional intelligence (EQ) with the ability to quickly build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively across diverse teams and corporate cultures.
Preferred
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (D365).
- Experience working in a global or shared services environment.
- Experience partnering with Sales, Client Success, or other commercial teams to support revenue operations and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting external audits and internal control initiatives.
