Accounting Supervisor

About the role

The Accounting Supervisor position at Cooper Farms' Fort Recovery Feed & Animal Division is responsible for supervising accounts receivable, reviewing payroll, managing fixed assets, and performing analysis as requested.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead accounts receivable personnel, ensuring accuracy and efficient task execution.
• Assist with new customer setups, credit checks, credit memo approvals, EFT requests, and monthly sales tax filings.
• Review and complete divisional payroll tasks, including weekly bank transfers, TM village tax refunds, and miscellaneous payroll items.
• Ensure the accuracy of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset listings.
• Perform analysis for various projects within the live and egg division, creating short-term and long-term reports as needed.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business-related field is required.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Excellent math skills and strong organizational abilities are necessary.
• An attention to detail and the ability to maintain detailed records are crucial.

Pay

Starting rate commensurate with experience, with additional pay available in the form of monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses dependent upon company performance.
