Accounting Specialist (Receivables)

About the role

We are hiring an Accounting Specialist to join a dynamic team in Greenville, SC. In this role, you will report directly to the Controller and perform a variety of accounting duties with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable. You will work closely with internal Project Managers and external client accounting personnel to facilitate invoice collection, send collections emails, and ensure timely payments. Additionally, you will handle special projects for general ledger maintenance and reporting, set up and maintain client and project accounting records, establish new project baselines and budgets, and generate client invoices. This position offers opportunities to grow your accounting knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Send client invoices in a timely manner with minimal errors based on project documents.
• Set up new projects accurately and timely using project documents provided by project managers.
• Process invoices, daily transactions, and expenses.
• Update and maintain the accounting database with data entry and reports.
• Handle monthly and quarterly reports.
• Perform other day-to-day and assigned accounting duties supporting Accounts Receivable and other accounting functions.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or equivalent experience; Accounting or Business focus preferred but not required.
• 1-3 years of experience working in an Accounting department.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly detail-oriented.
• Ability to work well in both team-based and independent situations.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills with a knack for thinking creatively.
• A passion for making clients, worksites, and the world safer.

Schedule

This is a full-time, in-office role based in Greenville, SC, with a flexible start time between 7:30 and 9 am. You will have your own personal office.
