Accounting SpecialistLocation: Vero Beach, FL Duration: Contract-to-hire/ Direct Hire Schedule: Hybrid Compensation: $25-$35/hourJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join a collaborative finance team in Vero Beach, FL. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with 2-5 years of experience who is looking to expand their accounting knowledge and take on a broad range of responsibilities.Working closely with the Controller and CFO as part of a small accounting team, this role will support day-to-day accounting operations while gaining exposure to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger activities, reconciliations, reporting, and process improvement.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and review invoices, payments, and other accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness.Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including resolving discrepancies and responding to vendor/customer inquiries.Perform account and bank reconciliations and research variances or discrepancies.Assist with general ledger accounting, journal entries, month-end close, and maintaining accurate financial records.Support the company purchasing card and expense management processes, including reviewing expense reports for accuracy and compliance.Assist with vendor setup, maintenance, documentation, and account inquiries.Research and resolve accounting discrepancies by working with internal departments and external vendors.Assist with reporting, financial analysis, KPI tracking, and other accounting-related projects.Support administrative accounting functions, including utility accounts, business licenses, and other company-related financial accounts.Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and documentation.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, accuracy, and efficiency.Provide cross-functional support to the accounting and finance team as needed.Qualifications2-5 years of accounting or finance experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferredExperience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, general ledger, or other accounting functionsStrong understanding of basic accounting principlesProficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applicationsExperience working with an ERP or accounting system; NetSuite experience is a plusExperience with expense management systems such as Concur is a plusStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent organizational and time-management skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a small accounting teamComfortable starting fully onsite in Vero Beach, FL and transitioning to a hybrid schedule after trainingWhy This Opportunity?This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants broader exposure than a traditional AP or AR role.
