About the role
The Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for performing day-to-day accounting tasks and activities. Along with a team of employees, this includes, but is not limited to, transactions that impact the general cash account, collections, and on-hold orders.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and process incoming emails from the AR email address.
- Work with customers to collect past due receivables.
- Learn and understand how to process sales tax exemptions from customers.
- Handle new customer onboarding, including ship-to addresses, credit applications, etc. (Any variances to this process should be directed to the AR Lead).
- Learn and process customer tax credits.
- Be responsible for maintaining specific customers/accounts by providing account balances and documenting attempts to collect.
- Analyze and resolve account application issues.
- Analyze and resolve partial payment issues.
Requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to exercise extreme attention to detail.
- Well organized and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong professional communication skills, written and verbal, required for both internal and external interactions.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years working in an accounting capacity, within an accounting department.
- Experience with various accounting platforms required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
