Job Details Description POSITION SUMMARY As an Accounting Specialist, you are responsible for reconciling General Ledger and internal deposit accounts, accurately processing Accounts Payable, preparing select financial and regulatory reporting and fixed assets. In this role, you will also be responsible for accurately processing Accounts Payable, fixed assets and reconciliations for the holding company. You will assist the Controller with forecasting and other duties as needed. As a representative of the Bank, you are required to present a positive and professional image at all times. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferredMinimum 2 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent preferred COMPETENCIES Possess strong analytical skillsPossess professional communication skillsPossess proficient computer skills and familiarity with most Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for analytical purposesPossess a strong attention to detail to ensure information is accuratePossess organizational skills and be service orientedAbility to take initiativeAbility to multitask and often change focus in a fast-paced environment without getting stressed or overwhelmedAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlinesPossess ability to handle confidential information Duties And Responsibilities Accurately process Accounts Payable, prepaids and Fixed AssetsAccurately prepare reconciliations of general ledger accountsReconcile internal DDA accountsAccurately process Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and prepare reconciliations for the Holding CompanyPrepare selected financial reportingUpdate selected projection files each monthPerform tax payments and other types of payments as neededAccurately assist Controller in forecasting and other duties as neededAccurately prepare selected financial and regulatory reportsPerform special projects as they ariseServe as a backup to other Accounting functions when necessaryMaintain compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirementsConsistently support, uphold and model the organization’s core values and standardsComplete other duties as assigned as determined by management to be reasonable and beneficial Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively with management and employees. Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential. Remaining in a stationary position operating a computer for extended periods of time is common. Must be able to accurately gather and process verbal and written information and properly prepare or inspect documents. Good manual dexterity is needed for the frequent use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, copiers and telephones. Out-of-town or overnight travel may be required.
