ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to support the financial operations of our growing construction company. The ideal candidate will have experience with construction accounting, job costing, progress billing, and lien compliance.

Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable invoices and assign job cost codes
• Reconcile vendor statements and manage vendor payments
• Prepare and submit progress billings and customer invoices
• Manage Accounts Receivable collections and payment tracking
• Prepare Preliminary Notices (Pre-Liens) and lien releases
• Maintain job cost records and assist with project cost tracking
• Support month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Maintain subcontractor compliance documentation, W-9s, and insurance certificates
• Assist with payroll and other general accounting functions as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and job costing
• Experience with progress billing, preliminary notices, and lien releases
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Pay

$28 - $36 per hour, depending on experience
