About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to provide critical support to the accounting team during a transition period. This role will be heavily involved in accounts payable, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities while also assisting with training and knowledge transfer for newer team members. The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working in a collaborative accounting environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage accounts payable transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
• Perform account and credit card reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing and reviewing financial data.
• Support documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
• Train and mentor newer accounting team members on established workflows and best practices.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies while maintaining accurate financial records.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accounting deadlines are met.

Requirements

• Prior experience in accounts payable, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience training, mentoring, or assisting less experienced team members.
• Experience with MIP Fund Accounting software strongly preferred and considered a significant advantage.
• Candidates without MIP experience must have strong QuickBooks experience.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard accounting software applications.

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 - $28.85
