Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support client-facing finance operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in Saratoga Springs, New York. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting specialist who can oversee core financial activities, interpret results, and provide reliable guidance to businesses that value high-quality financial support. The position is primarily remote, with occasional on-site client visits in the Capital Region as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities, ensuring financial records are finalized accurately and on schedule.
• Review general ledger activity, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies through detailed analysis.
• Prepare and assess financial statements to support decision-making and maintain reporting accuracy.
• Complete account reconciliations and journal entries while maintaining strong documentation standards.
• Partner with clients on accounting and finance initiatives, offering practical support across day-to-day and project-based needs.
• Assist with audit-related financial preparation by organizing records and responding to reporting requests.
• Use QuickBooks and related accounting tools to manage transactions, reporting, and financial oversight.
• Travel within the Capital Region when needed to meet with clients and provide direct operational support.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing month-end close processes in a detail-oriented accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger review, account reconciliation, and journal entry preparation.
• Experience preparing or analyzing financial statements with a high level of accuracy.
• Familiarity with audit support and financial documentation best practices.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks in a business or client services setting.
• Ability to contribute to consulting-style engagements and adapt to varying client needs.
• Prior experience in an accounting management or finance operations leadership role.
• Must be located near Saratoga Springs, New York and able to visit client sites as needed.
