Responsibilities
- Direct daily accounting activities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in alignment with company policies and reporting standards.
- Lead the monthly close cycle by reviewing journal entries, coordinating deadlines, and delivering complete financial results on schedule.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through detailed account analysis, reconciliations, and balance sheet oversight.
- Prepare and review financial reports for leadership, providing clear insight into operating results, cash flow, and key financial trends.
- Supervise and develop a small accounting team, offering guidance, feedback, and mentorship to support performance and career growth.
- Partner with senior management on budgeting, financial planning, and other initiatives that improve decision-making and operational effectiveness.
- Support audit activities by organizing documentation, responding to requests, and helping ensure a smooth financial statement review process.
- Contribute to accounting process improvements in a fast-paced environment, including enhancements tied to reporting workflows and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility within an accounting function.
- Strong background in month-end close, general ledger management, journal entry review, and account reconciliation.
- Experience preparing financial reports and assisting with financial statement audits.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reporting, and data review.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members in a collaborative environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Prior exposure to construction accounting is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-moving organization while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
