About the Role

The Accounting Manager leads a team of accountants and oversees accounting and financial reporting activities within the organization. This position ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial results, manages the month-end close process, reviews balance sheet reconciliations, supports audit requirements, maintains internal controls, and partners with operations and leadership to drive effective financial management and continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and supervise a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and performance management.
  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial information and reporting.
  • Analyze financial results, investigate variances and trends, and partner with leadership to resolve issues and drive informed decision-making.
  • Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Partner with operational and corporate leadership to address accounting matters and support organizational objectives.
  • Drive process improvements, standardization efforts, and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and mentorship to accounting staff.
  • Support acquisitions, system implementations, and other business initiatives as assigned.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional projects, ad-hoc analyses, and strategic initiatives to support the organization's continued growth and evolving business needs.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA preferred; active pursuit of CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience required.
  • Previous management, supervisory, or team leadership experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or managing accounting professionals preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and provide performance feedback to employees.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work, delegate responsibilities, and manage competing deadlines.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and performing detailed financial and accounting tasks requiring sustained concentration and attention to detail.
  • Frequent use of hands, fingers, and wrists to operate computers, calculators, telephones, and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, video conference, and electronic communication platforms with employees, leadership, auditors, and external business partners.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting or carrying office materials and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to corporate offices, facilities, training events, audits, meetings, or other business-related locations as needed.

Pay

$110,000–$125,000
