DLR Group has an opening for an Accounting Manager. This role could be based in the following offices: Omaha, NELincoln, NE Position Summary DLR Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to help lead, evolve, and continue elevating our corporate accounting function. As a trusted partner to the Senior Accounting Leader, you will help oversee all aspects of corporate accounting, technical accounting, financial reporting, compliance, tax, and treasury while strengthening internal controls and process improvements to support the firm’s growth. This role is ideal for a hands-on, strategic leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about building high-performing teams, optimizing accounting operations, and ensuring financial accuracy and integrity across the organization. What You Will Do Effectively manage, mentor and support a team of accountants Take ownership of the day-to-day corporate accounting function, including general ledger, accounts receivable, lease accounting, fixed assets and financial reportingEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and best practicesOversee the month-end close process, proactively manage all audit activities, and prepare periodic and full-year financial statements and supporting schedulesMaintain strong relationships with external auditors, advisors, consultants, and banking partnersDrive continuous improvement of accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls to enhance efficiency, scalability, and accuracyOversee billing, invoicing, payments, and collections while maintaining robust controls around the movement of fundsCoordinate with external tax advisor to prepare and file required federal, state, and local tax returns and to meet all other tax obligations of the companySupport mergers and acquisitions activitiesDevelop and maintain clear, effective written accounting policies and proceduresLead, mentor, and develop accounting team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growthSpecial projects as assigned by the financial accounting leadership teamContribute with the department on evolving and transforming the department with AI and ERP tools Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting5 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally with 2+ years in architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) or similar in the professional services industryMinimum 7 years of relevant accounting experience with AEC industry preferredStrong expertise in GAAP, technical accounting topics (ASC 606), and financial reporting standardsExperience overseeing core accounting functions including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reporting, compliance, and treasury operationsDemonstrated leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teamsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) equivalent certification or in process certification is preferredBackground in public accounting or experience working with large, complex organizationsExperience supporting mergers and acquisitions or other transaction-driven environmentsKnowledge of Deltek VantagepointExperience completing process improvements, system implementations, or finance transformation initiativesExposure to international accounting standards (IFRS) and global operations DLR Group is an integrated design firm delivering architecture, engineering, interiors, planning, and building optimization for new builds, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects.
