Accounting Manager, Accounting, Amazon Stores Accounting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join the Stores Accounting team (supporting Zappos & Shopbop).

Responsibilities

• Own Operational Accounting: Manage the monthly close cycle, account reconciliations, flux and variance analysis, and audit support activities while partnering with technology teams and stakeholders.
• Automate: Work on automation projects and lead the coordination of designing processes and tools to make financial statement processes easier and more accurate.
• Support Expansion: Ensure implementation of controlled processes to keep Amazon's financial statements materially correct as the Retail business expands.
• Consult: Partner with various stakeholder teams across Amazon to act as a valued consultant and drive strategic direction.
• Make Decisions: Drive the direction of accounting operations and process improvements to completion as an empowered decision maker.
• Collaborate: Collaborate with Amazonians of diverse backgrounds to deliver the best results for our customers.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Accounting and Financial Systems.
• Demonstrated experience in operational accounting, month-end close processes, account reconciliation ownership, variance analysis, audit support, accounting requirements documentation, and process design.
• Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients.
• Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency.
• Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.

Skills

• CPA
• Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
