About the role

The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, influencing guest satisfaction and performance through exceptional customer service and strategic management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a multiunit store, ensuring prompt and courteous guest service.
  • Support the shopping environment, promoting GameStop's guest benefits and managing associates.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately, maintaining accurate records and adhering to company policies.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise associates, ensuring they meet performance standards and comply with company policies.
  • Ensure store cleanliness and organization, fulfilling inventory counts and handling defective merchandise.
  • Lead the team in achieving sales and profit targets, while maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of retail management experience required; 3 years preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
  • Outgoing personality with strong people skills, clear communication, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills and Abilities

  • Genuine and individualized guest service.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
