Accounting Intern

About the Role

Therma-Stor is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Support team member to assist the Finance and Accounting department with daily administrative and accounting activities. This entry-level, onsite part-time position provides valuable hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment and is ideal for someone looking to build foundational accounting and finance skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable processing, including invoice entry and coding
• Support account reconciliations and maintenance of accounting records
• Assist with data entry and validation of financial information
• Organize and maintain electronic and paper accounting documents
• Support month-end closing activities and reporting processes
• Help prepare spreadsheets, reports, and financial schedules
• Research and resolve basic invoice or payment discrepancies
• Assist with vendor setup and record maintenance
• Perform administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and document management
• Support special accounting and finance projects as assigned
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
• Assist with audit requests

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills

• Previous office, administrative, bookkeeping, or accounting support experience
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting software (JD Edwards experience a plus)
• Currently pursuing or interested in a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• Experience with data entry and document management
