Accounting Intern

About the role

At KCI Construction, we believe internships should provide meaningful, hands-on experience. As an Accounting Intern, you'll work alongside our accounting team, gaining exposure to the financial operations that support large construction projects. You'll learn industry-specific accounting processes while contributing to the day-to-day success of the department. This internship is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field who are eager to apply classroom knowledge in a professional environment.

What You'll Do

• Aid in processing accounts payable invoices and supporting documentation.
• Organize and maintain electronic accounting records.
• Support the collection and tracking of lien waivers and other compliance documentation.
• Process employee expense reports.
• Reconcile vendor statements and identify discrepancies.
• Assist with vendor setup by gathering required documentation, including W-9 forms.
• Affix credit card reconciliations and code transactions.
• Communicate with vendors and internal team members regarding invoice or payment questions.
• Learn and utilize accounting software, including Vista.
• Perform general administrative and accounting support as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing an Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
• Positive attitude with a desire to contribute and grow.
