Accounting Intern

Key Responsibilities

• Releasing Customer Debits/Credits related to sales tax requests
• Aiding with the backlog of Customer Debits/Credits
• Manually pushing through Debits/Credits to ensure they are not bulked together
• Outreach to customers for missing Exemption Certificates
• Aid in updating CertifyTax when missing Exemptions are received
• Cross Check Vertex and CertifyTax to make sure Certificates are properly updated
• Assist with other tasks as they arise related to the Sales Tax Project

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with major in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

About the Role

We are seeking an intern to support our Accounting Department with various tasks related to our Sales Tax Project. The intern will be responsible for releasing customer debits/credits related to sales tax requests, aiding with the backlog of customer debits/credits, manually pushing through debits/credits to ensure they are not bulked together, outreach to customers for missing exemption certificates, aid in updating certifytax when missing exemptions are received, cross check vertex and certifytax to make sure certificates are properly updated, and assist with other tasks as they arise related to the sales tax project.

The ideal candidate will have a strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, basic understanding of accounting principles and practices, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
