About the role

This is a remote position within CorVel, a national provider of workers' compensation, auto, health, and disability management solutions. The Accounting Coordinator role involves compiling data, computing fees and charges, preparing invoices, and supporting the billing center's goals of generating approximately $50k in monthly revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Research unresolved items prior to month-end closing and resolve.
  • Keep closing unresolved balance from 0-1% of A/R within 2 months.
  • Maintain DSO to standard determined by management within 3 months.
  • Develop and define monthly A/R Collection plan and supervisor procedures within 2 months.
  • Balance spreadsheet, prepare reports, and close month without assistance on schedule within 1-2 months.
  • Understand and follow procedures for cash, transfers, refunds, and billing within 1-2 months.
  • Keep 120-day balance at 0 to less than 5% of A/R.
  • Understand the various billing processes.
  • Endorse incoming checks and make daily deposits.
  • Respond to accounts receivable inquiries and provide information via phone, email, or in person.

Requirements

Must be able to complete the above essential functions after being in the position for the specified timeframes. Requires regular and consistent attendance, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adherence to the Injury and Illness Prevention Program ("IIPP"). Additional duties as required.

Skills

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of accounting procedures.
  • Proficient in PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel spreadsheets.
  • 10-key by touch.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service focus.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong detail orientation with the ability to work on several concurrent tasks and prioritize workload with minimal direction.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree with 1 year experience in accounts payable, or
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) with 3+ years' A/R experience.
