Responsibilities
- Process invoices including coding documentation, verifying invoice amounts against contracts, obtaining approvals, and confirming mathematical accuracy.
- Prepare weekly payment register, verify accuracy, and obtain Controller approval before submitting to Corporate for check processing.
- Assist with check distribution from Corporate, match checks with supporting documentation, and release vendor/subcontractor payments upon confirmation of signed lien waivers.
- Expedite division manual check requests for permits and special payments.
- Monthly preparation and processing of invoice accruals and account reconciliations.
- Review document history for double payments, coding inconsistencies, and duplicate commitments.
- Create and maintain vendor setups, including 1099 history for required vendors and year-end filings.
- Collaborate with managers and vendors to resolve problem invoices.
- Meet all required time schedules and month-end deadlines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of accounts payable experience highly preferred.
- Good PC skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel; advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Working knowledge of construction processes.
- JD Edwards experience preferred.
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements
- Regular, in-person attendance at company communities, job sites, and offices during work hours is essential.
- Ability to work more than eight hours per day in confined spaces like construction trailers.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and/or carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional operation of construction equipment may be required.
- Finger dexterity for operating a computer keyboard and calculator.
Pay
Base compensation ranges from $21.70 to $30 per hour, subject to adjustment based on qualifications, geographic pay differentials, and operational considerations. This position may be eligible for bonuses and commissions.
