Accounting Coordinator

About the role
The Accounting Coordinator I supports finance and operations by managing assigned accounting activities and ensuring timely, purposeful communication and escalations. Core responsibilities include entering and reconciling production and operational data, escalating discrepancies, and supporting the execution of the monthly SOX controls. The role serves as the site production confirmation key point of contact and partners closely with operational stakeholders. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely receipt of raw materials and goods purchased in SAP, including reconciliation of key raw materials. The role also supports the buyer process by assisting in researching invoicing, purchase orders, and aged receipts, and provides support in month-end close activities. Additional tasks may include entering data to support RTY reporting and quarterly fixed asset and capital spare verifications.
Responsibilities
- Daily/Ad-hoc tasks:
- Production entry (Sheet Machine, Finishing)
- Review and coordinate quality control product release/block
- Production reconciliations
- Raw material receiving
- Review and assist with accounts payable
- Monthly tasks:
- Support day 0 production closure
- Complete and document production and accounts payable related SOX tasks
- Provide accounts payable accrual related journal entry review and preparation support
- Review and maintain aged GR/IR
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Support cost accountants on tasks as needed
- Act as backup for storeroom receiving
- Perform non-basic tasks including financial items such as entering data for RTY reporting and quarterly fixed asset and capital spare verifications
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree in accounting or related field is a plus
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a supporting accounting role or equivalent education preferred
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred
- Experience with an ERP system; SAP exposure a plus
- Experience working in Excel and other Microsoft applications is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills both in-person and over the phone
- Curious, takes initiative, and asks questions
- Detail-oriented with a concern for accuracy and ensuring processes and tasks are completed correctly
- Solid organizational skills with ability to manage time and resources to ensure work is completed
- Ability to take action consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences; seeks guidance from finance leadership as needed
- Reliable, detail-oriented, ambitious, and works well in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and regular interruptions
- Strong grasp of Excel, confident using an ERP system and other databases
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate as part of a team towards common goals
- Ability to work limited overtime as needed (primarily during month-end close)
- Willing to wear safety PPE as required
Pay
As of the date of this posting, the pay scale for this position is $25/hourly to $28/hourly. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography, and internal equity and may change over time.
