Accounting Clerk

About the role
This role involves providing accounting and clerical support to the accounting department, maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and recording a wide range of transactions. The Accounting Clerk ensures the accuracy of financial documentation and assists accountants with various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Maintain financial records: Keep financial records updated and ensure their accuracy.
- Prepare reports: Generate financial reports needed for the business.
- Record transactions: Enter key data of financial transactions into the database/ERP system.
- Reconcile accounts: Reconcile bank statements and accounts in a timely manner.
- Provide administrative support: Offer clerical support to the accounting department, including typing, preparing, and maintaining accounting documents and records.
- Handle invoices: Process invoices, organize office mail, and manage customer and vendor accounts.
- Resolve discrepancies: Research, track, and resolve accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance: Perform all functions in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
Requirements
- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable Clerk.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
- Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications
An Associate of Business Degree in Accounting/Finance is desired but not required.
