About the role
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is seeking a Full Time Accounting Clerk for its Finance Department located in Newark, New Jersey.
Responsibilities
- Performs a range of general clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping support functions
- Provides accounting and clerical support to the finance department
- Prepares and maintains accounting documents and records
- Codes, posts, and receives payments
- Prepares and coordinates bank deposit activities
- Prepares general ledger postings and statements
- Performs all necessary reconciliations in a timely manner
- Researches, tracks, and restores accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Enters data for financial transactions on a daily basis
- Researches cash receipts, bank deposits, custodial transactions, and other items when requested
- Performs filing and general administrative tasks
- Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Requirements
- Associate's degree in finance or related field
- 1-3 years experience in finance, business or accounting is preferred but not required
