Responsibilities

  • Prepare and upload Journal entries as per the direction from Associate Director or Director of Finance in accordance with FASB and GASB guidelines.
  • Independently prepare reconciliation of the accounts and resolve variances.
  • Completing day-to-day tasks using computer applications and University related computer software applications including but not limited to: Banner, Business Objects, EPIC, View Direct, Eddie, Microsoft Office, I-Buy, TEM, P-Card, T-Card, etc.
  • Cover, or assists with the coordination of, the preparation and design of accounting reports prepared on behalf of and used by senior administration for determining UIPG/ MSP; financial allocations, and measuring revenue and expenses.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements including: Revenue and Expense Reports, Accrued Financial Statements, Cash Flow Statement analysis, expense reports, etc.
  • Cover, or assist with coordination of, appropriate data distribution to the Director of Administrative Operations (DAOs), billing services, collection agencies and University Administration.
  • Represent the units on various internal/external committees as required of this position.
  • Apply advanced computer application skills to Business Objects, Banner, Eddie, EPIC to obtain specific data needs.
  • Cover, or assist with coordination of, workflow with other business analysis and finance staff on various levels.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Accountancy or a related field AND two (2) years of professional level accounting experience.
  • OR Possession of current registration as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant, or a valid license to practice Public Accounting (LPA).
  • OR Master's degree in Accountancy or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint or other similar presentation software.
  • Effective project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to learn and utilize new software applications for data reporting and analysis.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with attention to details.
  • Ability to interpret Policy and Procedures and apply the interpretation to daily projects.
