Accounting Assistant
Job Summary
Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Northeast Ohio, Inc. (“RMHC NEO”) is seeking a full-time Accounting Assistant to join our team. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is based at the Cleveland Ronald McDonald House with a hybrid work-from-home component up to three days per week.
Responsibilities
- Ensures activities align with RMHC NEO's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
- Records donations and revenue, manages and deposits cash contributions, prepares invoices, and supports various finance-related tasks.
- Trains and supports staff on use of Stampli, the accounts payable system.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements, updates budgets, and prepares annual 1099s and 990s.
- Supports Finance and Audit Committees and assists with meeting logistics.
- Oversees the management and distribution of donated gift cards and maintains records of their usage.
- Facilitates the issuance of credit card accounts within Stampli for employees with authorized access.
- Participates in fundraising events as needed.
- Manages multiple projects, meets deadlines, and maintains confidentiality.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with 5 years of experience in accounts payable/receivable preferred.
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
- Strong computer proficiency, including familiarity with MS Office products and accounting software (QuickBooks and Stampli preferred).
- Ability to learn organization-specific software.
- Dependable, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Sits at a desk to perform work, view content on computer monitors, and utilize a computer keyboard and mouse.
- Occasionally lifts and carries up to 10 pounds.
