About the role

Nearly 1.3 million Americans are residents of nursing homes, they depend on nursing staff for basic needs, like eating, exercising, and medication. Currently, 99% of nursing homes in the US are facing nursing shortages, which means residents may not receive adequate care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Accounting degree strongly preferred
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 8-12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience required
  • Strong close management, GL, reconciliation, financial reporting, and operational accounting experience required
  • Hands-on experience with SaaS billing, subscription revenue, deferred revenue, customer billing workflows, and revenue operations highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, and operational accounting processes
  • Experience improving finance workflows, accounting processes, billing controls, reporting cadence, operational discipline, and organizational scalability strongly preferred
  • Experience operating in environments undergoing finance transformation, process redesign, operational scaling, system implementation, or infrastructure cleanup strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills required, including large data set analysis, reconciliations, pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, financial analysis, and operational reporting
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or comparable mid-market ERP required
  • Familiarity with Stripe, Chargebee, Zuora, Salesforce, Hubspot, or related billing/revenue operations platforms highly preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, high-accountability environment

Responsibilities

  • Accounting Operations, Close and Financial Reporting

    • Lead and actively participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across multiple entities
    • Own close discipline, close calendars, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and documentation standards
    • Review and approve journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and key accounting workpapers
    • Maintain integrity of the general ledger and ensure accurate classification of revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities, and intercompany activities
    • Identify, investigate, and resolve unsupported balances, unusual activity, operational disconnects, and accounting discrepancies
    • Improve close timelines, reconciliation quality, reporting accuracy, and financial statement integrity
    • Support remediation of historical accounting issues, cleanup items, and process gaps
    • Own the preparation and coordination of monthly and quarterly financial statements, management reporting packages, lender reporting support schedules, audit support, schedules, and operational reporting deliverables, subject to CFO review and approval
    • Perform variance analysis and prepare budget-to-actual support schedules and reporting analysis as needed
  • SaaS Billing, Revenue Operations and Finance Workflows

    • Manage SaaS billing workflows, subscription billing processes, customer billing accuracy, and related finance operations
    • Partner with sales, operations, billing, and leadership teams to ensure billing activity aligns with contract terms, customer go-live dates, upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, and revenue recognition requirements
    • Support subscription revenue, deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, contract asset, usage-based billing, and billing reconciliation workflows
    • Strengthen the connection between CRM, billing systems, ERP, revenue schedules, and financial reporting
    • Identify billing gaps, timing issues, system disconnects, manual workarounds, and process breakdowns impacting revenue accuracy
    • Support implementation or optimization of SaaS billing and revenue operations tools, including platforms such as Chargebee, Stripe, Zuora, HubSpot, Salesforce, Sage Intacct, or similar systems
    • Improve scalability, documentation, controls, and accountability across SaaS billing and revenue operations workflows
  • Finance Operations, Working Capital & Workflow Leadership

    • Provide operational oversight across billing, AR, AP, collections coordination, and accounting workflows
    • Partner cross-functionally with payroll, operations, sales, billing, and leadership teams to improve financial accuracy, execution quality, and operational efficiency
    • Improve working capital visibility, AR aging management, collections processes, cash conversion, and DSO performance
    • Prepare operational cash management reporting, lender reporting support schedules, and liquidity visibility analysis
    • Identify workflow breakdowns, process inefficiencies, control gaps, and operational handoff issues across finance operations
    • Drive workflow redesign initiatives to improve scalability, reduce manual work, strengthen accountability, and improve operational responsiveness
    • Support automation initiatives, systems enhancements, ERP optimization, and operational reporting improvements
    • Improve organizational discipline, ownership, prioritization, and execution consistency across the finance organization
    • Drive the buildout of scalable finance operating processes capable of supporting continued organizational growth
  • Technical Accounting and Controls

    • Manage revenue recognition, deferred revenue, accruals, prepaid expenses, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity accounting processes
    • Ensure SaaS billing, subscription revenue, marketplace activity, staffing operations, and related finance workflows are properly reflected in the general ledger
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, approval workflows, and documentation standards
    • Strengthen internal controls, review procedures, reconciliation discipline, and operational accounting processes
    • Partner with the CFO to improve accounting policies, process governance, operational controls, and financial discipline across the organization
  • Team Leadership and Execution

    • Manage and develop accounting and finance staff
    • Review work product, provide coaching, and improve quality, accuracy, accountability, responsiveness, and execution across the team
    • Establish clear priorities, deadlines, ownership, and execution discipline across finance deliverables
    • Drive organizational consistency, responsiveness, and follow-through across accounting and finance operations
    • Serve as a hands-on escalation point for accounting, reporting, reconciliation, SaaS billing, operational finance, and workflow issues
    • Help elevate the overall standard of execution, organization, urgency, and operational discipline across the finance function

    Pay

    $145-170k commensurate with experience
