About the role
Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the preparation of the monthly financial statements for Frederick Health and subsidiaries.
- Participates in compiling and preparing deliverables for annual audit of financial statements.
- Record and post general ledger transactions, including cash receipts, pharmacy transactions, and refunds.
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of cash, bank, and credit accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Process and coordinate electronic fund transfers.
- Coordinate and reconcile virtual payable program.
Requirements
- Patient Contact: Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups: _ (Performance of job does not require patient contact).
- Physical Demands: Sedentary - Light Work - Lifting up to 15 pounds on an infrequent basis (less than one lift every three minutes). While work is mostly done sitting, a certain amount of walking or standing is often necessary.
- Ergonomic Risk Factors: Repetition: Repeating the same motion over and over again places stress on the muscles and tendons. The severity of risk depends on how often the action is repeated, the speed of the movement, the required force and muscles involved. - Working Conditions: Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Risk: Category C - NO exposure to blood or body fluids.
- Reporting Relationship: Reports to Accounting Manager.
Qualifications
- Maryland hospital experience preferred.
- Bachelors degree in accounting
- One to three years experience in accounting
Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements to include Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills to discover discrepancies and to install best practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills to both internal and external customers.
- Ability to extract and formulate data for reporting analysis.
- Experience with large enterprise-wide financial systems.
Pay
Salary range: $26.46 minimum – $37.80 maximum.
