About the role

Join the Restricted Accounting team at New Mexico State University! This position offers an opportunity to contribute to NMSU's mission in a dynamic higher education environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance monitoring, expenditure transactional review, administration of sponsored awards collections, and monthly/fiscal year-end receivable analysis.
  • Ensure letter of credit (LOC) federal agency electronic payment systems for awards are in balance with Banner budgets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of quarterly financial reports.
  • Ensure timely submission of the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA) Sub-award Reporting System of subcontracts.
  • Responsible for timely financial sponsored award closeout and property closeouts.
  • Administer month-end cost-share close process.
  • Responsible for restricted awards document management/destruction of expired awards per State of New Mexico guidelines.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy or bachelor's degree with successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of Accounting (ACCT) course work.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience directly related to the job duties and responsibilities as outlined.

Working Conditions

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • Lifting requirements: handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

Pay

$53,165.80 - $67,872.60

Schedule

Standard (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
