Accountant, Senior - Accounting

About the role

The Accounting department at Hawai‘i Pacific Health is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the organization's finances. It tracks revenue and expenditures, provides necessary financial reports, and ensures compliance with legal requirements, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and coordinate the work assignments of other Accountants
• Lead the implementation of control procedures and monitor them to ensure accurate and timely accounting information is being reported
• Oversee the month-end closing entries for major operating units
• Lead special projects as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Three (3) years of progressive accounting experience in private industry or public accounting including experience coordinating the work of others
• Demonstrated responsibility for a significant area of the financials (i.e. payroll, accounts receivable, physician benefits, GL operations, etc.) and experience working on independent GL related projects
