About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is vital in supporting our financial operations, ensuring audit readiness, and driving process improvements across our accounting functions. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the month-end close process, managing general ledger activities, and assisting with external audit requests. Additionally, they will collaborate with supply chain partners to enhance inventory management processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting, supporting Formic's growth and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in responding to auditor requests and coordinating supporting materials across systems and stakeholders
- Support preparation for the 2026 audit cycle by creating scalable, repeatable processes
- Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Help improve the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of close deliverables
- Support financial reporting activities, including internal schedules and management reports
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies, open items, and process gaps
- Play an active role in maintenance cost reporting and tracking, driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with the Supply Chain Manager to implement and optimize inventory management processes
- Assist with process improvements related to reconciliations, accruals, expense classification, and documentation
- Create and maintain clear documentation for recurring accounting processes to ensure consistency and compliance
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting, month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Experience supporting financial audits, audit readiness, or external auditor requests
- Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including working with supporting schedules and reconciliations
- Ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive work to completion
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting systems (preferred)
- Experience in process improvement related to close processes, documentation, or audit workflows (preferred)
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with evolving systems and processes (preferred)
