About Us
America's Floor Source, one of the nation's largest flooring companies, is seeking a full-time Accountant at our Columbus headquarters. This individual will be responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to accounts payable.
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. This role will primarily support our accounts payable function. Initially, responsibilities will focus heavily on data entry as we transition to automation. Over time, duties will expand to include traditional month-end close activities, as well as analytical review and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and input material and non-material vendor invoices, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses to appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
- Verify discrepancies and resolve billing issues
- Reconciliation of payments and vendor statements
- File maintenance
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries (via all communication outlets)
- Perform general ledger accounting functions, including journal entry preparation and process development, account reconciliations, control compliance, balance sheet reviews, and detailed account activity
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Participate in the monthly accounting closing process, including the preparation, review and presentation of monthly, quarterly and year-to-date account reconciliation
- Proactively assess, develop and enhance processes and procedures on a continuous basis
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations
- Provide support during audits and implement audit recommendations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or 5 years of relevant accounting experience without a degree
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated and accountable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Pay
$60,000 - $75,000
