Accountant II positions at the University of Utah are responsible for performing general staff accountant duties related to the University's real estate portfolio, keeping records of building repairs, tenant files, and responding to accounting-related inquiries. They also manage fiscal records for each fiscal year, support audits and internal control reviews, and prepare and assess budget, revenue, expense, payroll, and journal entries.
Responsibilities
- Perform general staff accountant duties related to the University's real estate portfolio.
- Keep records of building repairs, tenant files, and respond to a variety of accounting-related questions.
- Support audits and internal control reviews by maintaining fiscal records for each fiscal year.
- Manage GFA access, chartfields, and activity lifecycle reporting, including opening/closing, endowment transfers, and wire transfers.
- Prepare and assess budget, revenue, expense, payroll, and journal entries, and produce other accounting documents to process invoices and reimbursements for payment.
Requirements
- EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
- Accountants II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
- Bachelor's (or equivalency) in business, accounting, or finance, with one year full-time paid accounting work with similar responsibilities.

Pay
$48,000 - $60,000 DOE
Schedule
Full Time, Mon-Fri 8:30 am to 5pm. One day per week may be telework.
