About the role
The Accountant II position supports Study Abroad programs by performing accounting and reconciliation duties, processing student financial transactions, and providing customer service to students, parents, and departments regarding program invoices and financial aid.
Responsibilities
- Processes IEW awards, posts student scholarships, and enrolls students in international insurance coverage (CISI)
- Serves as a backup for Accounting Specialist and Accountant III positions
- Invoices departments for special international programs
- Answers phone/email/walk-in questions from students, parents, coworkers and other departments regarding Study Abroad program invoices, including financial aid disbursements, credits earned, program costs, accounts receivable discrepancies, tuition statement discrepancies, budgets, CISI coverage, and refunds
- Processes Florida Prepaid invoices, reconciles and sends payments to Bursar for processing
- Processes student invoices and deferments
- Backup process deposits, reviews weekly CERT and CISI report for discrepancies
- Reviews all UFIC transactions for Tier 1 reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy of documentation and adherence to UF guidelines for funding sources
- P-Card reconciliation back up, responds to Salesforce emails
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of UF's Financial and Accounting System is desirable
- Knowledge of Student Financial Aid
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage a variety of tasks and to work well with people
- Experience in Excel and TerraDotta
Pay
$60,000 - $63,500 annually
