We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Senior Revenue Accountant (Consultant) to join our client in the Energy industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to apply their expertise in revenue accounting and consulting, while working in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

About the role

This is an immediate-need, hybrid role located in the Galleria area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of revenue accounting, including the preparation and review of monthly revenue and deferred revenue journal entries.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure that revenue is being accurately recorded and reported.
  • Collaborate with the operations and finance teams to understand and analyze production volumes, sales, and pricing.
  • Assist in the implementation of new revenue recognition standards and procedures.
  • Provide consulting services to clients in the Energy industry, including advising on best practices for revenue accounting and financial reporting.
  • Oversee the monthly close process for revenue, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to senior management and clients.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in the Energy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Operated/Non-Operated Wells and Quorum systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues before they arise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with other financial software.

Qualifications

  • CPA certification or progress toward obtaining CPA certification is preferred.

Pay

$95 - $105 per hour
