About the role

The Primary Care Access and Referral Program seeks (3) Full Time Primary Care Access & Referral Specialists (Office Assistant Seniors) to support the timely and effective appointment of underserved, low income, Multnomah County residents into a primary care “home” for comprehensive care and into specialty care through comprehensive, collaborative, planned processes that are patient centered, respectful and attentive to resource stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Contact community organizations, patients and referred community clients in acquiring and providing information and making referrals.
• Provide a wide variety of advanced clerical work, including the maintenance of records, application of departmental guidelines and standards.
• Research, complete, analyze data related to patient referrals into the department’s primary care system and from Multnomah County Health Department’s Primary Care System into specialty care throughout the metropolitan area.

Requirements

• Three years of specialized, increasingly responsible clerical experience in the area of assignment.
• Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
• Additional specialized clerical training or training in business services/operations is desirable.
• Applicants must be current regular or limited duration employees of the Health Department’s A.I.C. Unit.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

• Additional specialized clerical training or training in business services/operations is desirable.
• Current regular or limited duration employees of the Health Department’s A.I.C. Unit.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of health care systems and procedures.
