About the role
The Account Supervisor is the brand champion, providing strategic input, tactical planning, and direction on assigned accounts. This role includes direct management responsibilities, supervising junior account staff to implement plans in a timely, effective, and profitable manner. The Account Supervisor builds and maintains positive, lasting client relationships and ensures high-quality agency output.
Responsibilities
Agency Operations
- Drives the process and details, and develops tactical plans.
- Forecasts budgets.
- Develops and administers clients’ budgets based on accurate estimating and tracking of hours, out-of-pocket expenses, and reconciliation against estimates.
- Raises client awareness as to when changes in client direction affect estimates.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of contract and its implications.
- Makes sound decisions regarding hours dedicated to jobs and prioritization.
- Possesses thorough knowledge of all basic financial tools necessary for account management.
- Troubleshoots proactively, solving potential problems before they escalate.
- Solves client issues, independently moderates conflicts, and influences management decisions.
Team Leadership
- Takes on wider, informal leadership responsibilities within the agency.
- Provides clear and fair direction and feedback to junior account staff.
Knowledge
- Deep, expert understanding of the therapeutic category, the audience, and at least two channels.
- Basic knowledge of at least one other category and another audience.
- Continuously learning technology.
- Demonstrates and applies extensive and expert knowledge of assigned brands.
- Serves as point of authority and/or source of advice for therapeutic area.
- Ensures team adherence to agency process; identifies issues and leads problem resolution.
Strategy
- Develops communication objectives and strategies (e.g., marketing/brand platform briefs).
- Identifies the big picture and key issues while driving the process and details.
- Performs high-level analysis of category, research, and competitive data.
- Analyzes and extracts findings/issues from all available marketing data.
- Actively contributes to strategic development.
- Demonstrates passion for the brand.
Tactics and Execution
- Develops marketing/brand platform briefs and owns the agency process.
- Shows resourcefulness and thoroughness in developing tactical plans, including budgets and timelines.
- Supervises and effectively manages the production of client-approved marketing tools.
- Collaborates on creative brief development.
- Assumes responsibility for writing and preparing marketing communications plans and proposals.
- Communicates key client issues/initiatives to the team accurately and in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates the ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Has basic knowledge of PHCG businesses, offerings, and tools.
Client Relationship
- Builds trusting relationships with client counterparts, seen as strategic and integral to the account.
- Maintains frequent, positive client contact with key clients.
- Ensures everyone is focused on brand strategy and positioning: client, account team, and other internal departments.
- Understands, communicates, and advocates the agency point-of-view (POV).
- Ensures the client is kept apprised of all account activity, including delivering accurate and timely written reports.
- Presents complex data or messages in a clear, succinct, and compelling manner.
- Leads in ensuring timely, accurate client documentation and correspondence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, Master’s in Marketing, or related discipline preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare communications environment preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in an integrated agency.
- Open to travel.

Pay
Compensation range: USD $75,050.00 - USD $107,835.00 annually. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant, along with the requirements of the position.
