In this role, you will represent KRYSTEXXA to physicians and healthcare professionals, establish product sales, and perform total territory account management. The Specialty Account Manager is responsible for promoting Amgen products, managing Biotech/Infusion product sales, and providing account management support to Rheumatology accounts within a specific geography.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive and effective territory business plan aimed at achieving and exceeding annual sales goals.
- Promote KRYSTEXXA within approved labeling in a fair and ethical manner consistent with industry and corporate guidelines.
- Develop strong customer relationships by understanding their needs and communicating them to Amgen team members.
- Serve as a resource on local, regional, and national payer policies, reimbursement regulations, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and compliance (OSHA, HIPAA).
- Consistently meet or exceed corporate sales goals.
- Communicate territory activity accurately and timely as directed by management.
- Provide feedback to sales, commercial leadership, and internal departments about the changing environment and results.
- Adhere to Amgen’s compliance policies and guidelines, including the PhRMA code.
- Successfully complete all Amgen training classes.
- Complete administrative duties accurately and timely.
- Manage efforts within assigned promotional and operational budget.
- Maximize use of approved resources to achieve territory and account-level goals.
- Collaborate across divisions within the GBU to achieve business objectives.
- Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by management.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications (Account Manager Level 4)
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry or hospital sales experience, OR
- Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry or hospital sales experience, OR
- High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry or hospital sales experience.
Basic Qualifications (Specialty Account Manager Level 5)
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience, OR
- Master’s degree and 6 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience, OR
- Associate degree and 10 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of sales experience in the Rheumatology therapeutic area.
- Buy-and-bill experience and success strongly preferred.
- Biologic/biotech sales and reimbursement experience strongly preferred.
- Rheumatology therapeutic area experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working with institutions and integrated delivery networks preferred.
- Experience in a team environment partnering with Commercial Operations functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Professional, proactive demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and computer skills.
- Approximately 20-30% travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments.

Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is:
- Account Manager Level 4: $145,311 – $196,597
- Specialty Account Manager Level 5: $158,931 – $215,025
