Account Manager- Remote, 8am-5pm MT
Remote position based in Mountain Time (8am–5pm MT). Occasional in-office attendance required for meetings, training, and team collaborations. Local travel may be required for client meetings or training sessions.
About the role
The Account Manager oversees a portfolio of complex clients, ensuring successful collaboration on carrier renewals, census data, and compliance with carrier guidelines. This role involves conducting in-depth benefit analysis, recommending strategic enhancements to clients' benefit programs, and providing expert guidance on additional lines of coverage. The Account Manager works closely with clients, brokers, sales consultants, and carrier partners to deliver exceptional service, including managing Co-Broker arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of complex accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely execution of renewals by collaborating with Account Executives and group administrators to review and select appropriate plan options.
- Facilitate open enrollment by coordinating with group administrators, sending enrollment changes to carriers, and confirming completion.
- Collect and analyze census data and client information to develop tailored renewal strategies.
- Coordinate and manage shared client accounts with Co-Broker arrangements, if applicable.
- Utilize CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, BenefitPoint, Brokerage Builder, EPIC) to track renewals, upsells, pending/completed cases, and Co-Broker commission splits.
- Develop customized marketing analysis and competitive reports to assist clients in optimizing their benefit offerings.
- Communicate with clients, brokers, and sales consultants to provide strategic recommendations for benefit plan design and carrier selection.
- Present renewal options, costs, and potential plan enhancements.
- Assist clients in navigating complex renewals, including carrier transitions and the addition of new coverage lines.
- Maintain proactive communication with clients to ensure a seamless renewal process.
- Provide support to less experienced Account Managers through training and guidance on best practices.
- Collaborate with case installation and new business teams to streamline onboarding for new clients.
- Act as a backup for assigned Account Managers and provide high-level assistance.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving team performance and service delivery.
- Stay informed on benefits, plan designs, and market competition to provide accurate renewal analysis and marketing recommendations.
- Monitor industry regulations and compliance standards to maintain up-to-date knowledge of the employee benefits market.
- Provide high-level customer service, ensuring timely resolution of client inquiries.
- Proactively identify potential client issues and develop solutions to mitigate risks and enhance service quality.
- Maintain a client-first approach to ensure satisfaction and long-term retention.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; advanced education or degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of prior experience as an Account Manager or equivalent combination of education and insurance experience.
- Must hold and maintain a Life & Health License, including timely renewal and completion of required continuing education courses.
- Strong understanding of employee benefits products, contributions, and pricing models.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Effective communication skills across various channels, tailoring messages to different audiences.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret complex information.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and departments to support shared goals and cross-functional initiatives.

Pay
Hourly salary range: $28.58–$40.35. Actual compensation may vary based on work experience, education, skill level, and geographical location.
Schedule
Full-time position, Monday to Friday, with overtime during peak periods, holidays, and weekends as requested.
