Account Manager - Real Estate Insurance
Your Responsibilities
The Account Manager is the service experience leader of the client team, supporting/implementing the risk management/insurance program strategies. The Account Manager supports the client and Account Executive in program administration, marketing and placement and carrier management. He or she also provides directions and works with the Account Analyst to deliver on client needs.
A trusted advisor who is responsive and receptive, the Account Manager provides innovative solutions and industry best deliverables through application of technical knowledge. On an ongoing basis, the AM is responsible as the key contact for the client's service-related issues. Confirm coverage or answer questions about the specifics of the Policy. Provide counsel or direction when a loss occurs. Interpret policy information and share back to the client accurately. Discuss business changes that may impact coverage due to acquisition or reducing coverage due to a divesture.
Review client contracts and provide guidance about insurance requirements or coverages that may be needed to satisfy contractual obligations. Conduct open items meetings for ongoing service requests. Prepares and gathers information that will contribute to the client strategic plan including exposures, loss runs, and carrier data. Analyzes gathered information and makes recommendations and provides insight based on level and skillset.
Covers communications for presentations and meetings for the Account team. Presents portions of the renewal that the AM has supported during the marketing. Typically markets less complex lines of coverage. Identifies and analyzes client exposures. Interprets and evaluates policy terms to ensure adequate coverage for Client’s identified exposure.
Distributes RFP requests to vendors. Reviews results, and conducts preliminary negotiations and market narrowing. Provides recommendations to Account Executive and producer and prepares renewal presentation for client meeting. Works closely with Risk management team on final projections and peer-reviewed financials. Project manages renewal implementation.
Works closely with carriers and client to update changes to coverages. Confirm coverages are correctly placed and carriers and client are ready for the new policy year. Second Set of eyes on policy checks. Project manages new client onboarding leveraging standard checklists and tools. Document communications strategy and enroll clients in standard delivered programs or client add ons.
Oversees AA activities to ensure administrative set up for successful client management is completed. Manages client financial reporting and claims analysis including providing the data to the client. Works closely with financial analytics team as appropriate.

Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in client services for property and casualty including servicing and placement.
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related program or equivalent education and/or experience in the insurance industry.
- Intermediate understanding of P&C coverage lines in multiple product lines.
- Intermediate knowledge of different risk financing strategies and products available to clients (e.g., guarantee cost, loss sensitive, collateral) with strong knowledge in the guaranteed cost market.
- Relationships with insurance/carrier markets in assigned areas, or ability to develop same immediately.
- Basic negotiation skills related to marketing and placement of insurance products.
- A strong working knowledge of the changing vendor landscape including new entrants into the marketplace and cutting-edge products and solutions.
- Knowledge of federal and state legislation and legal issues related to the insurance industry.
- Ability to compile, analyze and interpret financial information to facilitate decision making.
- Full proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Basic presentations skills.
