The Opportunity
The Account Manager manages a book of insurance business, providing professional, courteous service to clients, carriers, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues. They manage client relationships, advocate for clients, and manage renewals and new client accounts.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Service day-to-day client needs, including handling calls, emails, and communications related to coverage questions, policy changes, payments, cancellations, etc.
- Manage the renewal process, including obtaining updated information, marketing, terms and pricing negotiation, quote review, presentation to the client, and invoicing.
- Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction.
- Delegate tasks to Assistant Account Managers as needed.
- Negotiate coverage with underwriters.
- Ensure the completion and accuracy of proposals, binding of coverage, and review of policies for accuracy.
- Create client policy summaries and binders.
- Set up and maintain electronic records.
- Follow best practices and internal broker standards for service and maintenance of client files and information.
- Collaborate with team members to share and educate on coverage, exposures, and client knowledge.
Qualifications
- P & C Insurance Producer License
- Two or more years of insurance brokerage or property casualty insurance experience in account management role (preferred)
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong reading comprehension and analysis skills
- Strong data entry skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organization and follow-up skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet utilization
- Applied EPIC Agency Management System experience (preferred but not required)
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
The physical and environmental demands of this job include sitting, using hands, fingers, and talking or hearing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision on a computer monitor.
