Job Scope:This position is responsible for the sale of products and services for the company. This requires maintaining excellent relationships with customers and vast knowledge of the industry. This position also requires a candidate in the Ohio/Kentucky sales region that has the ability to travel. Essential Duties:Responsible for the sale of products and services represented geographically by state Conduct sales calls, schedule promotional work, and track sales activities Plan effective coverage by county to penetrate all potential customers within assigned territory Understand each customer’s hierarchy and develop customer profiles to qualify sales potential Gather data on competitive products and pricing and report to sales administration personnel for their respective products Assist or coordinate the start-up of new equipment or plants with the manufacturers’ representative Follow up on all quotes and report any lost sales activity on a formal report Work with manufacturers’ sales representatives for any potential sales of specific products or services represented Submit business opportunities and activities via the CRM, and complete expense reports Secondary Duties:Maintain a safe and clean work environment Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software Knowledge of aggregate parts, service, and products Aptitude for sales Education Requirements:High school diploma, GED, or equal years of experienceAssociate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred Experience Requirements:Three to five year of aggregate industry experience Career Ladder:This position could lead to advancement to a Sales Management position.Safety: Promote a Healthy and Safe CultureEmpower employees to make the workplace safeEstablish employee ownership for safe behavior and awarenessPlan safety into all tasksLearn from unsafe experiences to prevent future accidentsPerformance Standards:The criteria for evaluation in this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Successful development and timely completion of individual and divisional annual objectives Accomplishment of professional development goals as established in the employee performance evaluation Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills in building and maintaining levels of trust and respect Satisfactory annual evaluation by supervisor Note: Mellott Company reserves the right to change or reassign job duties, or combine positions at any time with or without notice to the employee.
