Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive licensing strategies to enhance brand visibility and revenue growth
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential licensing partners
- Negotiate licensing agreements and ensure compliance with contract terms
- Ensure all licensed products meet Steve Madden Brands' quality standards and brand guidelines
- Collaborate with design and production teams to maintain brand integrity
- Conduct market research to identify new licensing opportunities and trends
- Analyze competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions
- Oversee licensing budgets, royalties, and financial performance
- Monitor and report on the financial impact of licensing activities
- Manage the end-to-end process of licensing projects, from concept to launch
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery
- Oversee license renewals, amendments and contract-related updates, ensuring compliance with licensor requirements
- Identify new licensing opportunities and/or partners
- Negotiate terms for new partnerships
- Work closely with legal teams to draft and review licensing agreements
- Ensure all licensing activities comply with relevant laws and regulations
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent experience in a related field that demonstrates your dedication to the industry
- 3–5 years of licensing or brand management experience within apparel, consumer products, or related industries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience managing external licensor relationships
- Proven ability to manage multiple licenses simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy
- Strong understanding of licensing agreements, contract management, approval workflows and compliance standards
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Creative thinker with a passion for fashion and brand development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
